Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Project Management or related field of study
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in power generation and/or transmission system estimating, engineering, design or construction execution for capital projects (for Estimator)
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in power generation and/or transmission system estimating, engineering, design or construction execution for capital projects (for Estimator Sr)
- Experience with estimating software packages
- Experience with Primavera (a plus)
- Strong knowledge of current market pricing trends and construction execution for capital projects (required for Estimator Sr)
Responsibilities
- Support project sponsors in development of conceptual, functional and detail estimates
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and other stakeholders in the development of the project scope of work
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates based on the approved scope of work
- Interface with planning, engineering, project engineering/management, outage management, construction, and operating company personnel to identify/initiate, scope, status and follow-up estimate efforts
- Develop and analyze historical records of project costs
- Review and critique designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggest alternatives when appropriate
- Adhere to standard processes and procedures for estimating
- Review estimate basis and assumptions for completeness and reasonableness
- Work with functional departments and service organization to develop services labor estimates
- Provide technical direction and guidance regarding estimate approach/development, assumptions/qualifications and resolution of estimate issues
- Assist with maintaining the integrity of the estimating software and associated resource and assembly cost data
- Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company’s Corporate Compliance Policy

- Demonstrate an understanding of scope management
- Be accountable for project assignments
- Develop the skills of organizing project activities, delegating project task assignments, setting team requirements and expectations to manage deliverables, and holding team members accountable
- Develop the ability to evaluate and determine the skill sets and capabilities needed of team members to assure project success
- Develop a high level of proficiency and advanced knowledge of construction methodologies
- Position may require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks and meet project requirements and schedules
