Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in photonics integrated circuit research and development.
  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a related field.
  • A proven record of accomplishments as a principle in international forums, SIGs, and public/private strategic councils, as well as for leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of photonic device physics, design, and fabrication processes.
  • Experience with simulation tools and software used in PIC research.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead, and mentor a world-class photonics research team, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific excellence.
  • Develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps, focusing on groundbreaking advancements and long-term innovation, such as optical computing.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technology trends and opportunities in the photonics field.
  • Oversee the design, simulation, and experimental validation of novel photonic integrated circuits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, global operations, and marketing, to inform research directions and translate findings into viable products.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners.
  • Secure and manage research funding, including grants and collaborative projects.
  • Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor industry at a Start-up or Industrial level.
  • In-depth knowledge of market trends and future directions in the photonics sector.
  • Substantial number of Publications or patents in Silicon Photonics.
