Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
- Possess written and verbal communications skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems
- Ensure the privacy of each patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members
Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients
- Verify patient information
- Schedule appointments
- Update Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Facilitate intake procedures such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms
- Collect payments for services
- Adhere to organizational, local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures
- Perform specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department
