Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 12 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science (MS) and 10 years of relevant experience; OR PhD with 8 years of relevant engineering and/or lab experience
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
- Experience with advanced composite and/or metallic design
- Experience utilizing GD&T principles and Model Based Engineering (MBE) in detail part design
- Experience with 3D modeling software
Responsibilities
- Research, develop, design, and document solutions to engineering composite and metallic components and assemblies
- Apply sound mechanical engineering judgement, concepts, and techniques to produce high quality manufacturable designs
- Maintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries
- Support other functions throughout the design and build process
- Assist the team to develop/document best practices and mentor less experienced engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NX 3D modeling software
- Experience with Teamcenter PLM software
- Experience designing parts and assemblies utilizing GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 or later
- Complete understanding of composite structures
- Experience leading a project from proposal to completion
- Experience providing technical leadership of a group of 1-5 engineers
- Complete understanding of Aerospace practices, policies, and procedures
- Active DoD Secret clearance
