Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate law.
  • Demonstrated expertise in commercial contracting and general corporate work.
  • Outstanding academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Active law license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 days a week in the midtown NYC office if live within commuting distance.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Practical and business-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative team player with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability and comfort working collaboratively across the international community in multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, negotiate and advise on customer agreements, license agreements, consulting and vendor contracts, and NDAs for various business lines including market platform trading, portfolio management and data services, transaction and brokerage services, and registry infrastructure.
  • Advise on market operations including the launch of new market products, interpretation and application of market rules, customer onboarding, KYC and market risk.
  • Provide legal support for financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions and partnerships, and legal counsel on a range of general corporate matters including corporate governance, regulatory advice and compliance, data privacy, intellectual property, employment and consulting matters.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Combination of law firm and/or in-house experience
  • Experience in energy or environmental markets or the financial services industry
  • Certifications: Active law license (New York State preferred).
