Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, related field or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of work experience in NERC compliance or electrical regulatory roles (e.g., engineering, compliance, or regulatory agencies)
- Strong knowledge of NERC CIP Medium Impact Reliability Standards, as well as ERCOT and CAISO requirements.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Effective project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead Intersect Power’s compliance and regulatory strategy with a primary focus during the Operations period to support requirements with NERC, PUC, and ISO standards
- Lead by example and perform and educate team members on the organization’s operational policies, procedures, controls, and largest risk areas to successfully complete time based filings and respond adequately and quickly to event based triggers
- Identify and spearhead new program implementation necessary to keep pace with Intersect Power’s technology and generation mix and portfolio growth with respect to regulatory thresholds, such as CIP Medium Impact and Transmission Owner requirements
- Report and communicate program strategy and performance to leadership
- Manage team outcomes related to risk analysis, procedure and internal controls implementation, controls verification, evidence and artifact management, monitoring, and reporting
- Provide oversight of and manage outside counsel, consultants, internal SMEs, and other project personnel to achieve compliance risk mitigation objectives
- Partner with all levels of cross-functional teams (engineering, legal, construction, and development) and subject matter experts throughout the organization to analyze, recommend and support compliance implementation, understanding, and corrective action efforts, as needed
- Manage and mentor an Operational Compliance team to meet these objectives
- Provide oversight of the NERC Generator Owner Compliance Program, including supporting team members in performing internal assessments, evaluating compliance, investigating potential noncompliance violations, documenting these in accordance with regulatory norms and industry good practices, and designing appropriate corrective actions and mitigation plans to address identified internal control weaknesses and compliance evidence deficiencies
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with regulators, internal teams, and third-party service providers
- Actively engage with industry organizations and forums to contribute to the development and evolution of internal control standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance on-boarding of solar projects during the construction phases
