Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university and 5+ years’ experience in a variety of technical assignments
  • Expertise in analog and digital circuit design, motor control, electro-mechanical sensors, IoT sensors, microcontrollers, etc.
  • Proficiency in schematic and PCB design principles and generation using ECAD software
  • Subject matter expert of power electronics, battery management systems, signal integrity, control systems, and EMC design principles
  • Subject matter expert for developing testing methodologies for electronics systems
  • Proficiency with electronic testing equipment: power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, etc…
  • Proven track record of taking devices through FCC and CE regulatory certification
  • Proven track record of taking devices through RoHS, REACH, Prop 65, POP, and any other chemical compliance
  • Proficient in working with communication protocols I2C, SPI, UART, or other protocols for system interface, programming, and debugging
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Hands-on expertise with prototyping, debugging, and testing electronic circuits
  • Leader in promoting effective communication and team culture

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external teams to design, develop, and test electrical hardware systems while adhering to industry standards and best practices
  • Creating detailed schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard design tools
  • Conducting simulations and analyses to ensure the reliability and performance of hardware designs
  • Perform prototyping, debugging, and validation of hardware components and systems
  • Optimizing power consumption, signal integrity, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, product developers, and manufacturing, to define product requirements and specifications
  • Work closely with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical components into the product enclosure
  • Coordinate with software engineers to ensure hardware compatibility and functionality
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and product validation activities to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into product designs
  • Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, BOM’s, test plans, test reports, and user manuals
  • Support manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless transition from design to mass production
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to other teams
  • Plan and carry out project responsibilities with limited assistance and direction
  • Effectively leading communications with key stakeholders
  • Develop robust timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts
  • Demonstrate ability to organize and drive projects to completion within required timeframes, managing internal teams and external joint development partners

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working in embedded systems, software, and firmware engineering. Proficient with back-end development architecture enabling connectivity.
  • Familiarity with programming languages C, C#, and Python
  • Experience developing wireless communication systems and Radio Frequency (RF) design
  • Familiarity developing IoT systems i.e. Wifi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, Thread, LoRa, cellular IoT, etc.
  • Experience using OrCAD, Allegro, and Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout
