Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency required
- Graduate of a polysomnographic technology education program acceptable to the New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- Registration with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT)
- New York State Polysomnographic Technologist License
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Responsibilities
- Perform and evaluate overnight polysomnograms under medical supervision
- Independently operate sophisticated medical equipment to record sleep and wake physiology
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of one year experience working as a polysomnographic technologist and/or three years’ experience in a related field
