Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent education and two-three years related work experience; or Associates Degree with one to two years related experience; or Bachelor’s degree with one-year related work experience required.
- Considerable knowledge and skill in the application of the techniques and practices of OR Scheduling.
- Considerable knowledge of complex medical terminology and advanced disease processes preferred.
- Typing speed of 35 cwpm, and computer experience required.
Responsibilities
- Schedules all procedures and assures that all of the appropriate clinical and insurance coding information is collected.
- Scheduler receives requests to schedule procedures and schedules the procedure according to established guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of complex medical terminology and advanced disease processes preferred.
