Requirements

• Ability to assist in the operation of thermoforming equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion of the Assistant Thermoforming Operator Job Training Outline and Skills Assessment to achieve certification.
• Willingness to work toward Thermoforming Operator certification.
• Ability to perform machine adjustments, changeovers, and QA checks.
• Ability to collaborate with the team and assist with day-to-day operations effectively.
• Willingness to comply with and enforce all policies and procedures, such as work rules, quality standards, GMP, and food safety regulations.
• Support for continuous improvement initiatives and cost savings efforts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of thermoforming equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company policies/processes and customer specifications.
• Operate thermoforming equipment in the absence of the operator.
• Continuously develop skills to operate thermoforming equipment to qualify for available Thermoforming Operator positions.
• Follow all safety and 5S guidelines, ensuring the work area remains clean and organized.
• Promote safety in the workplace and encourage others to work safely.
• Operate within BMS to read schedules, and enter and maintain accurate operational data (finished goods produced and packed pallets).
• Perform all tasks related to packaging finished products: assemble cartons with liners, position for Packers, use BMS, load finished cartons on pallets, and label cartons correctly.
• Ensure all products meet production, quality, and technical specifications.
• Keep the Operator/Supervisor informed about critical issues affecting safety, quality, and production.
• Assist the Thermoforming Operator in machine operations, including changeovers, machine set-up, roll splices, regrind/elutriator systems, waste systems, QA checks, BMS operations, and daily 5S audits.
• Assist in providing breaks and lunches to the production crew on your machine.
• Complete certification by finishing the Assistant Thermoforming Operator Job Training Outline and Skills Assessment and work toward becoming a Thermoforming Operator.
• Acquire skills for machine adjustments, changeovers, dialing in machines, and performing QA checks.
• Assist the Operator in maintaining tool boards, machine boards, audits, and check sheets.
• Perform other tasks as directed by Supervisor, Team Leader, or Operator to support plant operations.
• Support Kaizen Events and other continuous improvement initiatives.
