Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR or leave administration, with a strong understanding of leave laws and regulations.
  • Ability to understand conceptual matters and translate how those concepts guide or inform work.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to synthesize data and identify trends.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to provide strong customer service and tactfully navigate challenging or sensitive issues with tact and discretion.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, strong working knowledge of excel including pivot tables, lookups and macros; prior Workday experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all leave requests including Family and Medical leave, short-term and long-term disability, Military Leave, medical accommodations under ADA and Parental Leave. Liaise with HR Business Partners, Employee Relations, Payroll, Legal, and other areas of the business as necessary.
  • Works with our third party leave administrator (TPA) on all leave cases to ensure timely execution of leave processes and compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Manages the return-to-work process. Works proactively to ensure appropriate documentation is received before an employee returns to work; communicates changes in status or return dates to employees, supervisors, and HR as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with payroll to ensure accurate processing of leave-related pay and benefits in line with leave policies. Understands payroll implications of leave processes and ensures minimal disruption.
  • Manages the Parental Leave process including eligibility, documentation, coordination with other leave types or benefits (i.e., short-term disability), and return to work.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for employees, HR Business Partners, and supervisors on leave policies, procedures, requirements, etc. Provides timely, accurate, and complete information to all effected parties.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws and regulations, partnering with Legal, Compliance, TPA’s or others as needed.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of leave policies, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Interprets and enforces company leave policies consistently and fairly.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential records of employee leave transactions; generates reports and analyses leave-related data for actionable insights.
  • Identifies opportunities for improving leave management and accommodation processes and implements process improvement opportunities where appropriate.
  • Manages state and federal labour posters.
  • Provide assistance during benefits enrollment periods, helping employees navigate benefits options, and ensuring all necessary forms are completed and submitted.
  • Identify and build Workday Knowledge Articles.
  • Manage employee experience surveys.
  • Collaborate across HR functions to centralize administrative task within People Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Workday experience a plus.
