Requirements
- Ph.D. In Civil Engineering or Related Field.
- Knowledge of environmental economics, finance, or both.
- Valuation of ecosystem co-benefits.
- Work with diverse and large datasets using programming languages such as R, MATLAB, or Python.
- Proven track record of publications in high-quality journals.
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced research in environmental economics and finance applied to coastal green and gray infrastructure.
- Develop and implement economic models to analyze the financial implications of green and gray coastal infrastructure and the economic valuation of ecosystem services.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate economic and financial perspectives into broader environmental science and engineering projects.
- Apply quantitative methods to assess the economic, social, and flood risk impacts of green and gray coastal infrastructure.
- Utilize programming languages (such as MATLAB, Python, and R) to analyze datasets and develop computational models.
- Prepare research findings for publication in high-impact scientific journals and present at conferences.
- Present at stakeholder engagement meetings and incorporate stakeholder feedback into research.
- Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and graduate students within the department and across relevant disciplines.
- Establish connections with external partners, stakeholders, and industry professionals to enhance the impact and relevance of the research.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D In Civil Engineering.
- 1-4 Years of Experience.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in working with flood/hydrodynamic models.
- Experience with flood hazard and risk models such as FEMA’s HAZUS.
