Responsibilities
- Demonstrate through knowledge and ability, the execution of the service steps (i.e. greeting the guest(s), taking their order, serving of food, wine etc. during operating hours)
- Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to enhance the banquet experience and drive repeat business
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and innovations to continuously improve banquet offerings
- Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits with recommendations to match menu items and guest preferences
- Develop and co-ordinate the integration and implementation of the Banquet policies and procedures, training programmes, manuals, directories, menus and work schedules
- Control labor and operating expenses through effective planning, budgeting, purchasing decisions, policy making, and inventory control, while focusing on creative cost control and revenue generation solutions to maximize profit in the division and the hotel
- Lead the recruitment, training, development and evaluation of employees within the department
- Ensure effective communication between all employees of the department and also with other departments, in particular the Catering Team
- Take part in covering Food & Beverage outlet shifts
