Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a college degree program, preferably in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of fundamental accounting and finance principles learned through coursework.
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Excel (basic formulas, formatting).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and conscientiousness.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with internal teammates and customers.
- Willingness to seek guidance when needed to understand the ‘why’ behind the work.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive approach and eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute within a collaborative team setting.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks after receiving clear instructions.
Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including data entry, vendor registrations and customer email follow-ups under supervision.
- Assist with the daily posting of customer payments to ensure accurate account records.
- Prepare and process bank deposits for checks received on time.
- Manage the sorting and distribution of departmental mail efficiently.
- Assist in preparing basic Balance Sheet account reconciliations under the guidance of senior team members.
- Perform various data entry tasks into Netsuite accounting software and spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.
- Following established procedures, help maintain organized and accurate financial records, both physical and digital.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on ad-hoc administrative and accounting support tasks as needed.
- Observe and learn various accounting and finance processes within the department to build a strong foundational understanding.
- Uphold strict confidentiality and ethics regarding all financial and company information.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance team by identifying potential efficiencies in assigned tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of introductory or intermediate accounting coursework.
- Prior exposure to accounting software (even academic or basic personal finance tools).
- A demonstrated interest in the technology sector or compliance management.
