Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant employee relations experience in a Human Resources or Legal (Law Firm) setting
  • At least 3 years of investigations experience
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.) and regulations
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to identify needs/issues quickly
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to influence and navigate complex organizational dynamics
  • Ability to work effectively as a valuable partner with all levels of management
  • Strong relationship-building skills and collaborative work style
  • Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fair, unbiased, thorough, independent, and timely investigations that meet company standards and legal requirements
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to leaders and colleagues on all employee relations issues, policy interpretation, and questions
  • Advise and support managers in performance management, corrective action, attendance, and disciplinary matters
  • Design and enhance employee-related policies that are compliant with federal, state, and local laws
  • Update the Employee Handbook as needed and ensure policies align with best practices and company culture
  • Participate in and facilitate training and education programs as needed to promote a positive and productive work environment
  • Report on employee relations activity and trends, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions to improve workplace culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR/SPHR certification(s) a plus
  • Experience developing and writing HR policy a plus
  • Experience with a case management system a plus
  • J.D. and/or Master’s a plus
