Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant employee relations experience in a Human Resources or Legal (Law Firm) setting
- At least 3 years of investigations experience
- Strong knowledge of employment laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc.) and regulations
- Strong investigative and analytical skills, with the ability to identify needs/issues quickly
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to influence and navigate complex organizational dynamics
- Ability to work effectively as a valuable partner with all levels of management
- Strong relationship-building skills and collaborative work style
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
- Bachelor’s Degree
Responsibilities
- Conduct fair, unbiased, thorough, independent, and timely investigations that meet company standards and legal requirements
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to leaders and colleagues on all employee relations issues, policy interpretation, and questions
- Advise and support managers in performance management, corrective action, attendance, and disciplinary matters
- Design and enhance employee-related policies that are compliant with federal, state, and local laws
- Update the Employee Handbook as needed and ensure policies align with best practices and company culture
- Participate in and facilitate training and education programs as needed to promote a positive and productive work environment
- Report on employee relations activity and trends, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate solutions to improve workplace culture
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR/SPHR certification(s) a plus
- Experience developing and writing HR policy a plus
- Experience with a case management system a plus
- J.D. and/or Master’s a plus
