Design Engineering Specialist

Four year degree in an accredited Engineering, Technology, or Materials Science curriculum is preferred.
Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Leads design, and development for core rotating components such as crankshafts or engine bearings that satisfy customer needs and advance safety, quality, velocity and cost.
Acts as the engineering leader on project teams and is tasked to guiding the team in component design, technical project planning, validation, and supplier technical collaboration.
Oversees the materials selection, manufacturing process selection, supplier selection and quality, as well reliability and durability of a portfolio of parts within core rotating components.
Communicates both formally and informally, engineering recommendations using a clear summary of the data based logic, alternatives considered, and risks based on design.
Monitors, explores, and tests new technologies, materials, and components to understand product or process improvement opportunities.

Experience with product or component design and development
Experience with diesel or natural gas engines, engine systems or applications
Strong communication with experience summarizing data for impactful recommendations
Demonstrated accountability and success managing multiple priorities
Experience with the processes including NPI, CPI, APQP, NSI, and 6Sigma
