Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required in a relevant technical field: engineering physics or electrical engineering, optics, applied physics along with a minimum of 5 year experience in the photonic industry. Preferably, you have a master’s or a doctorate degree in a field related to photonics
  • In depth knowledge of integrated photonic components (coherent modulator and receiver, tunable laser, amplifier …)
  • Demonstrate advanced multidisciplinary knowledge in optics, mechanics and electronics
  • Ability to collaborate and lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to elaborate test plans and methods for photonic components
  • Hands-on experience related to the characterization of photonic integrated components and circuits including DC and RF test methods for active and passive devices
  • You are familiar with the photonic and telecommunication industry and have established solid contacts/relationships in that field
  • You must be rigorous, well organized and structured, have a sense of initiative and a strong desire for innovation and demonstrated leadership in past projects
  • Team player with the ability to clearly communicate (synthesis) in a proactive and solution-focused manner
  • Be fluent in French and English (written and oral)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to technology watch on photonic components for future coherent modems and other future photonic applications
  • Write and communicate literature review on emerging and advanced technologies
  • Develop a strong understanding of internal coherent modem requirements
  • Test in the labs photonic components under evaluation
  • Interact with internal development teams and external suppliers
  • Defined and collaborate with other groups to realize prototypes
  • Establish collaborations with universities/academia aligned with advanced technology fields
