Requirements
- Associate’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
- One to three years of supervisory experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Three to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize, manage, and control workflow.
Responsibilities
- Drives continuous improvement through the leadership and execution of activities originating from Key Process Indicators (KPI’s), directed at accomplishing measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Ensures staffing and equipment readiness for effective execution of manufacturing schedules.
- Works closely with Engineering and Maintenance to monitor process performance. Initiates corrective and preventive actions to minimize unplanned downtime or resolve process or material issues.
- Identifies CI opportunities and leads JDI, Kaizen, and small-to-medium size projects in support of the plant’s CI/VCP goals.
- Responsible for verification of accurate production reporting (BPC’s & KPI’s). Resolves reporting issues as they arise.
- Manages, develops, trains, coaches, and evaluates the members of the production team.
- Coordination of time and attendance system/labor reporting. Daily approval of time and attendance punches including pay codes.
- Establishes employees work assignments and schedules and makes necessary changes to the employee’s schedule.
- Ensures associate compliance to company policies and follows through on consistent and fair application of disciplinary action when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or Paper Science (preferred).
- Work experience in a mid-to-heavy industrial environment (preferred).
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour safety training or equivalent (preferred).
