Requirements

- Must have a strong knowledge of the mechanical crafts and procedures including the millwright trade, pipefitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, sheet metal, and machinist skills.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of electricity including both A.C. and D.C., electronics, power distribution, and circuitry protection.
- Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of SAP systems.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Associates or Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- A four-year degree from an accredited college would meet the formal requirements of this position. Or, an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Previous work experience as a maintenance mechanic or electrician.
Responsibilities
- Promote and assure safe work habits including compliance and improvements to company and departmental safety procedures and goals.
- Assure that all equipment, parts, and personnel are available to efficiently complete each work order assignment with minimum downtime.
- Facilitates with PM lead daily 10:30am Happy Hour to discuss PM progress and what is needed to ensure completion.
- Participates in PM follow up meeting with Maintenance Manager highlighting PM wins and opportunities.
- Provides feedback to Tech’s on work order quality and highlights any issues to Maintenance Manager.
- Actively engaged in the PM’s as a resource and a point of contact for guidance to the tech’s and contractors.
- Creates and communicates work orders based on maintenance requests, planned maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Review completed work orders for discrepancies compared to plan in regards to time, materials, notes/comments and completion of tasks. Formally closes work orders after review.
- Provide technical advice on matters relating to equipment modification and time estimates on maintenance projects.
- Prioritizes planned work based on equipment availability, resources, safety impact and availability of outside contractors if needed.
- Coordinates and manages contractor services including but not limited to, lawn care, snow removal, fire inspections etc.
- Coordinates with reliability specialist to plan work according to data provided to further our predictive maintenance journey.
- Collects data on equipment breakdowns.
- Implement, manage and improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Implement and manage training program to further the knowledge base of the maintenance workforce.
- Monitor progress on difficult or extended problems and projects.
- Coordinate outside contractors when required for special project work or to supplement maintenance workforce.
- Support maintenance schedule including guidance of available resources, development of weekly resource schedules and ongoing improvements.
- Coordinates various projects as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
- Monitor the maintenance work schedule for vacations and overtime planning.
