Requirements
- Master’s degree preferred in a related field, and an understanding of college student development and student learning.
- 3-5 years progressively responsible experience at a college or university, with at least 2 years professional experience in residence life including residential accounts, assignments, budgeting, environmental services, and crisis response.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience working with faculty and academic learning communities is preferred.
- Experience with developing student learning outcomes and providing regular assessments of programs and services.
- Experience as a judicial officer at a college or university is preferred.
- Working knowledge of a variety of organizational units in order to build collaborative relationships and programs.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong computer and technology skills with experience and passion for communicating with students through relevant online platforms.
- Experience in supervising staff is required.
- Experience with training and/or teaching college students in a classroom or workshop setting is required.
- Experience with developing websites and knowledge of new technologies is preferred.
- The ability to speak multiple languages is preferred.
- Physical ability to operate computer, software (eRez, Workday), and telephone as needed.
- Ability to navigate the Parkville campus (including academic and commercial underground, residential facilities with no elevators, and other buildings) as needed to meet with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to provide workshops and facilitate meetings.
Responsibilities
- Manages the residential areas including staff, budgets, marketing and communications, facilities, assessments, assignments, inventory, camps and conferences, technology, and programs.
- Supervise and support the staff within Residential Life ensuring appropriate functioning of staff, programs and procedures. Provides direction and guidance to the Resident Directors who advises the Residence Hall Council, co-supervises RAs, work studies and indirectly supervises numerous resident assistants.
- Serves as the Senior Judicial Officer for all Park University residential students and assists the Dean of Students as an appointed designee.
- Responsible for on-call rotation system that responds to any number and variety of incidents that occur within the residential areas. The on-call rotation includes 3 levels of reporting accountability.
- Assess training and development needs for staff in a manner that ensures timely delivery and high-impact results.
- Ensure a wide scope of engagement, leadership, and collaborative opportunities that comprehensively impacts retention and includes faculty, staff, and students at Park University across the various residential programs.
- Serve as key member of Park University’s Behavioral Intervention Team.
