Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET for entry-level position
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred for entry-level position
- Typically 2 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET for the Engineer position
- Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program may be considered for entry into the organization at the Engineer level
- Acceptable alternative includes a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (non-ABET) plus a Master’s degree or PhD in engineering from a university with an ABET accredited Bachelor’s program
Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level engineering work activities and projects
- Support the Distribution Dispatch Center performing engineering duties
- Collaborate closely with field personnel, system operators, and other engineering teams
- Analyze system data, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions
- Commission, support, and use advanced software tools for real-time operations
- Lead/support reliability efforts
- Assist higher-level engineers in handling well-defined portions of more complex problems and analyses
- Coordinate work activities of others as required to resolve routine engineering tasks
- Provide input to routine project planning documents related to scheduling
- Prepare cost estimates using established standards
- Actively seek out information and understanding of engineering problems and solution techniques
- Assist and participate in the preparation of reports and technical papers
- Develop, review, or present technical reports such as improvement requisitions, studies, and analyses
