Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0-2 years of experience, in lieu of degree, and additional 8 years of security experience may be applied
  • Active Top Secret clearance
  • Experience managing data on SIPRNET for government customers
  • Experience working with AR 380-5

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing all classified documents stored in the classified area (Secret and Top Secret), ensuring they are properly marked, properly stored and properly tracked on the classified holdings list.
  • Responsible for managing the classified holdings list and the classified computer systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring the classified area passes all inspection criteria related to Information Security and Operations Security. This includes the collateral secret classroom, and Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) vault and office area and the Secret Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
  • Ensure compliance IAW AR 380-5, Information Security; AR 380-28 Section 2-6 Special Security Officer (SSO), DODM 5105.21, V.1-3, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI); DoD Directive 5205.07, SAP Policy; AR 380-381, Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM); AR 530-1, Operations Security.
  • Run personnel security reports and notify Security Specialists/Chief of overdue investigations, tracks courier cards expiration, opens and closes SIPRNET room, pulls classified data off and places data on the SIPRNET for government customers, wraps, mails and hand delivers classified packages (courier duties), set up and manage secure VTC, answer and direct phone calls, maintain and schedule classified conference rooms, coordinate special events, meetings, and conferences, prepare and review correspondence and other executive documentation to ensure smooth and efficient operations of the office.
  • In and out-process permanent employees ensuring all paperwork and briefings are adequately completed, documented, and stored.
  • Maintains liaison with outside agencies and keeps upper management informed of all security activities.
  • Ensures destruction of classified and company proprietary information in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for all access control functions to include issuing and restricting access credentials to visitors, conducting credential inventory, programming and terminating resident badge access and processing incoming and outgoing visit requests.
  • Responsible for processing, handling and storing classified materials.
  • Conduct Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAMs) such as ID and bag checks, and parking lot checks
  • Process incoming and outgoing visit requests via DISS and Excel
  • Coordinate Access Control for special events
  • Update and maintain security briefings
  • Use MS Office products, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • While there are no absolute certification requirements, individuals are expected to remain current in their knowledge of security via online training/other means offered through DSS or other industry recognized educational services, researching and following current events related to security and /or through professional networking security groups.
