Requirements
- BS in Mechanical or Automotive disciplines with 8+ years of automotive experience in design and release of vehicle attributes.
- MS in Mechanical or Automotive disciplines with 5+ years of automotive experience in design and release of vehicle attributes
- Experience in product problem solving using industry standard techniques.
- Excellent in data analysis using statistics Minitab or JMP, Python, MATLAB
- Previously participated in prototype builds or launch events.
- Knowledge of Electric Drive Unit, Inverters, MCU, & associated troubleshooting.
- Experience with design and release of automotive transmission components
- Experience in using DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, DFM, & RCA with cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills are required using Atlassian products.
- Requires proficiency in Catia or 3DX, Stack up analysis (2D & 3D), SQL, Canalyzer
- Travel is required between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA on as needed basis.
Responsibilities
- Solve complex component/system level problems using standard problem-solving techniques and Design of Experiments (DoE)
- Data driven proactive problem solving, root cause analysis & issue avoidance due to process deviations or critical part quality issues
- Troubleshoot all Drive Unit, motor gearbox related issues with datalink communication tools
- Provide design for manufacturability (DFM), design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) & serviceability feedback in future product development processes
- Responsible for Assembly Drawings and Design Intent Assembly requirements of Drive Unit System
- Advise on build process development and possible improvements for high volume production lines
- Drive product change management to address known product compatibility issues for high volume production or known product design issues in production.
