Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other appropriate technical education or experience equivalent.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Competent computer skills – with advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Infor LN.
  • Full working knowledge of EIPA, CGP and DPA (ITAR and other regulations an asset).
  • Experience in Jurisdiction and Classification Determination.
  • Experience with working with large amounts of data and performing analysis.
  • Able to work with tight deadlines, setbacks and changes in policies.
  • Self-starter; able to work autonomously with limited oversight as well as in teams.
  • Communicate and prioritize effectively.
  • Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge through study, experience, training, etc.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership and communications skills.
  • Analytical and reasoning; decision making with business acumen.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct export jurisdiction and classification reviews and determinations of hardware and technical data under Canada’s Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA) and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) / Defence Production Act (DPA).
  • Create and edit BoMs based on documentation and changes.
  • Review technical drawings and documentation.
  • Review and support supplier, customer and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) classifications for export and/or import.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support questions and issues related to BoMs and Standards.
  • Other job responsibilities as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training in Configuration Management Systems and/or Requirements Management an asset.
  • Working experience in the aerospace / defense industry is asset.
