Requirements
- BA/BS strongly preferred
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred
- Background in supporting people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or mental health preferred
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed writing skills
- Takes initiative
- Highly flexible personality type
- Valid Driver’s License preferred depending on location
- Flexibility to respond to calls and programmatic needs beyond regular work hours
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn/use Workforce Management software to effectively carry out essential business processes
Responsibilities
- Ensuring health, safety, and habilitation of the people we support consistent with agency philosophy and department practices.
- Ensuring the appropriate, therapeutically documented level of supervision in the residence, day program or community to ensure and protect the health and/or safety of the people we support.
- Providing program/floor coverage, when necessary.
- Promoting and maintaining the excellence of the programs.
- Developing professional, empathic relationships with family members ensuring they are included in the team process.
- Leading and facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and staff meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Attend regional and agency supervisor meeting or as directed by your supervisor.
- Attending and actively participating in the planning meeting for the people we support.
- Fostering interagency collaboration.
- Bringing the organizational culture to life.
- Ensuring a work environment that is free from harassment and discrimination.
- Playing an active role in the hiring process; interviewing and selecting appropriate staff based on program needs.
- Maintaining direct relationship with staff.
- Building staff morale.
- Fostering professional development through regular supervision, training, and evaluations.
- Supervising staff to ensure they are meeting the needs of the people we support and agency standards.
- Utilizing participatory management.
- Fostering the Open-Door Policy.
- Maintaining oversight and compliance of systems specific to role and responsibilities.
- Fostering communication and maintaining professional between relevant supports including those within the program, within the agency, and supports outside the agency.
- Overseeing all financial systems, maintaining records for the people we support and program expenditures.
- Operating the program within budgetary guidelines.
- Maintaining a safe environment for staff and the people we support and reporting any hazardous conditions.
- Ensuring the completion and maintenance of all paperwork and written records related to individual treatment.
- Reporting and monitoring incidents, as well as assist with the investigative process.
- Required to perform your responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department, under the supervision of your supervisor/manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Direct Support Professional experience preferred
