Requirements
- Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Currently registered (or commitment to register) with RNAO or equivalent for PLP
- Current BLS required
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written required
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
- Excellent patient assessment and teaching skills
- Possesses the physical ability to perform the day-to-day duties described in the duties and responsibilities
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient and customer service in keeping with GreenShield-NKS Health values
- Administer intravenous therapy and monitor patients under the care of a physician
- Administer IM/SC injections as ordered
- Take appropriate action in situations where the safety and well-being of the patient may be compromised
- Adhere to best work safety practices and procedures
- Strong commitment to Pharmacovigilance and Adverse Event reporting
- Report Adverse Events as needed
- Adhere to nursing practices as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Commitment to continuing education
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience with IVs
- Experience with IV antibiotics, and biologics preferred
- Experience with Pediatric patient population an asset
- OK to commute to Guelph/Cambridge if needed
