Requirements
- B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering, with strong working knowledge of Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years experience in high-speed cable and connector design and manufacturing
- Proven ability to lead product roadmap development and balance technical tradeoffs between signal integrity and mechanical constraints
- Deep understanding of mating issues, connector mechanics, and high-speed performance limitations
- Experience working cross-functionally with customers, vendors, and internal R&D/engineering teams
- Excellent communication and collaborator management skills
Responsibilities
- Define and lead the product roadmap for high-speed cables and connectors, rooted in state-of-the-art technical understanding and forward-thinking vision
- Specify clear, actionable requirements while enabling space for innovation across mechanical and signal integrity domains
- Work closely with customers and vendors to understand challenges, capture insights, and drive alignment from concept through execution
- Navigate the ME/SI tradeoff space, ensuring robust mechanical designs while respecting signal integrity constraints
- Lead or support root cause analysis of mating and mechanical issues, and continuously refine design for manufacturability and reliability
- Drive fast-turn prototyping and MP cycle time optimization
- Encourage internal and external collaborators with our vision — and deliver on it with clarity, precision, and excellence!
- Travel to vendors, manufacturers, and customers (20%) to foster strong relationships and ensure alignment
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in SI/ME co-design for high-speed (>=100Gbps per lane) interconnects
- Familiarity with high-speed design tools, FEA/thermal/mechanical modeling, and lab measurement techniques
- Previous ownership of product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing
- Passion for innovation and industry leadership
