Requirements

  • High School graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and or experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook; Google Workspace; Adobe products; and the internet.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and or experience preparing, proofing and/or editing communication materials such as brochures, newsletters and marketing publications
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and be proactive.
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Creating and implementing solutions to day to day operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of complex clerical and administrative support duties in support of the GEAR UP Department.
  • Process PRs for GEAR UP grants.
  • Provide general GEAR UP administrative office support.
  • Maintain significant knowledge of GEAR UP and University rules, policies, and procedures to complete tasks and provide information to clients.
  • Engage in frequent contact with clients, the public, university staff, faculty, and students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of full-time experience include office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, and/or general administrative work.
  • Experience providing administrative support to a grant funded program.
  • Experience with coordinating travel arrangements for employees.
  • Excellent editing/proofreading and data entry skills.
  • Experience working with marketing design platforms such as Canva or Creative Cloud.
  • Experience with Washington State University business policies and procedures and/or federal grant regulations, such as the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), High School Equivalency Program, 21st Century, or similar grant programs.
