Requirements

  • 2-3 years food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic Quality Assurance and HACCP principle knowledge required
  • SHE knowledge required
  • PSM knowledge preferred
  • Microsoft Office competency required
  • Must have the ability to articulate and technical writing skills to develop procedures and policies for manufacturing operations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work well in a team setting
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills in English required, Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Detail orientated writing skills to develop operating procedures throughout the site. SOPs should include food safety and environmental health and safety aspects to ensure conformance to regulatory, customer, and IFF guidelines.
  • Conduct verification and maintenance of the food safety and quality systems, hazard analysis, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes, and finished product alongside Product Safety and Environmental Lead.
  • Ability to independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to Product Safety and Environmental Lead.
  • Aids in the preparation of and is involved in regulatory, internal, and customer audits.
  • Collaborate with appropriate department in product safety investigations utilizing a systematic approach for root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures for Food Safety non conformance and all-encompassing documentation.
  • Investigates and follows up on food safety incidents based on a problem solving systematic approach for root cause analysis such as 5Why, fish bone, etc.
  • Ability to train and present topics in front of an audience related to product safety procedures, protocols, and best practices.
  • Work to develop a strong food safety culture at the site.
  • Support procedural and training actions from task risk assessments.
  • Acts as a key interface between personnel and the leadership team.
  • Assist in the preparation of and is involved in regulatory, internal, and customer audits.
  • Trend food safety metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Internal and external audit nonconformances
  • Pre-requisite programs such as GMP, Glass and Brittle Plastics, etc.
  • Work order monitoring related to product safety and audit CAPAs
  • Partner with Quality and EHS leaders to create and upgrade training material as needed
  • Ensure standardization occurs where possible
  • Coach and mentor employees at the site on food safety policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Capable of learning multiple programs and adapting material to each for training: Six Sigma, Workday, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Extensions, Other programs approved by IFF for Quality Assurance use
  • Other functions related to Quality Assurance and the advancement of IFF within the organization.
