Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences, health sciences or other medical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- one year experience in a clinical research capacity required
- experience or knowledge in specialty area preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology desired
- clinical research certification from an accredited certifying agency desired
- computer skills required with experience using Microsoft Software applications desired
- Requires successful completion of a background check
Responsibilities
- maintaining the surgical oncology database
- recruiting patients to the biorepository
- coordinating the acquisition of time-sensitive samples for patients treated in surgical oncology for both malignant and premalignant lesions
- assist with implementation and coordination of projects
- screen and recruit patients for specimen collection
- coordinate processing of specimens
- collection of clinical data
- administration of the database, including IRB, continuing progress reports
- work with a multi-disciplinary team to implement the bio banking repository for surgical oncology patients
- use software to track new and follow up patients through the care continuum of both programs
- work closely with the lab to run experiments and generate data from tissue samples collected
