Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, content marketing, CRM, or related fields, with a focus on category management and performance
- Proven track record of developing successful merchandising strategies for 3P, licensed and rev-share model content
- Deep understanding of consumer behaviors and discovery habits with entertainment, especially as they intersect with a content catalog and related services.
- Experience in content creation, from production to launch, and understanding of cultural nuances in content consumption.
- Strategic thinker with a strong customer-focused mindset and empathy, able to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across global teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement catalog strategies to integrate and promote third-party and licensed content, including diverse offerings from international markets.
- Own the merchandising strategy and outcomes for priority categories and genres, enhancing their packaging and promotion to increase member engagement
- Launch activations that highlight the best of Netflix content across priority categories on merchandising canvases
- Collaborate with content, marketing, and communications teams to align annual merchandising efforts with broader business objectives and content moments
- Collaborate with merchandising performance leader and consumer insights teams to guide the development of appropriate metrics for different flavors of category merchandising
- Serve as a thought leader in catalog knowledge and resulting category strategies, and an advocate for innovative approaches that support Netflix priorities
- Regularly analyze market trends and competitor strategies to ensure our merchandising tactics by category remain competitive and appealing to diverse audiences
- Partner with Technical Merchandising and Product Management to define new requirements that feed into the merchandising innovation roadmap
Preferred Qualifications
