Requirements

  • Strong architectural skills with the ability to discuss and influence complex technical decisions with technical founders and architects.
  • Experience in building and managing an engineering team of 20+ members comprising managers and individual contributors with varying experience levels.
  • Experience in identifying product quality gaps and influencing product teams to drive projects to fix quality gaps.
  • 10+ years of experience working in engineering leadership roles.
  • Excels at driving adoption of data-driven decision-making, leveraging insights to strategize, prioritize, and coordinate across UX, Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Support.
  • Deep experience auditing, measuring, and improving quality practices across engineering and product teams.
  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop talent while fostering career growth.
  • Can partner effectively with technical architects, product development teams, and non-engineering stakeholders to align technical initiatives with business outcomes.
  • Represent the engineering organization in global contexts, including travel to EMEA and APAC regions (up to 2 weeks every 6 months).

Responsibilities

  • Leading quality engineering teams to craft, design, orchestrate, and deliberate a product quality vision and strategy.
  • Leveraging QE methods and best practices that apply best considering Fivetran’s architecture and infrastructure, ensuring bugs and incidents in production are minimized.
  • Maintaining, monitoring, and improving our industry-leading goal of delivering a 99.9+% uptime, bettering the resilience of data pipelines, improving the accuracy and usefulness of customer-facing logs and error messages, and many more.
  • Setting goals for the efficiency of continuous integration by leveraging systems test automation for iterating quickly during the development cycle.
  • Owning and driving automation deliverables, including tools and library development.
  • Owning, iterating, and operationalizing incident & bug management while accelerating the adoption of feature release checklists risk analysis framework to build a quality-first culture within engineering.
  • Leveraging your proven track record of hiring and integrating passionate experts, skilled leaders, and architects into the team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in building and/or testing data pipelines or data processing platforms.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of product features.
