Job Description

Associate Director of Operations

BYU is seeking an Associate Director of Operations to play a pivotal role in shaping and overseeing the admissions process, ensuring smooth and efficient operations across multiple systems. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead in admission application management, decision processing, and technical solutions while working with a dynamic team.

What you will be doing in this position:

  • Oversee and supervise team responsible for admission application, CES Central Processing, ecclesiastical endorsement system and mission deferment system

  • Oversee and implement decision processing

  • Implement new policies approved by the President’s Council and procedures approved by the Director of Admissions

  • Supervise the technical needs of admissions regarding Admission operations

  • Supervise the mapping of all admission processes

  • Coordinate the specifications for the annual modifications to the existing CES processing system with all of CES

  • Coordinate as needed with CES for application modifications, specifically with shared information (i.e. recommendations)

  • Supervise the development, testing, and deployment of the BYU admission operation systems

  • Create and utilize reports in Tableau to extract, analyze, and interpret data for reporting and decision-processing purposes

What qualifies you for this role:

Education/Experience

Minimum required:  Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of experience in higher education administration.

Preferred: Master’s degree with similar experience preferably in admissions-related areas and experience involving system implementations.

Required:

  • Expertise in implementing technological procedures into business rules

  • Good judgment and sense of BYU’s Aims and Mission

  • Project management and organizational skills

  • Ability to thrive in a team environment

  • Leadership and organizational skills

  • Tact with sensitive information that needs to be analyzed and communicated to a variety of audiences

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills

  • Ability to collaborate with university and CES entities

  • Ability to organize, delegate, and account for completion of assigned tasks

  • Ability to self-direct and self-motivate

  • Ability to motivate and train others

  • Problem solving

  • Knowledge and experience with SQL

Preferred:

  • One year of experience in collaborative committees and task groups

  • Administrative experience

  • Knowledge of current national admissions trends in relation to the BYU community

Compensation Range

Actual compensation based on education and experience

$79,462.00 – $103,197.00
