Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or biological science with MT certification
- Must obtain MT certification within one year from the date of hire
- Meets mandatory hospital education and health surveillance requirements
- Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine automated and manual procedures
- Verifies and reports test requests and results
- Manages phone inquiries regarding patient results, specimen collection, and testing frequency
- Uses the laboratory computer system to review reports and call critical values to various healthcare professionals
- Performs and documents quality control, quality assurance, and preventative maintenance on instrumentation
- Provides training for new staff and medical technology students
