Assistant Head of School

Bachelor’s degree
Five or more years of teaching or leading in an accredited childcare center or school with young children (ages 0 through 3rd grade)
1+ years of experience with operational or instructional leadership of a multi-classroom school/center (e.g. as an Assistant Head of School, coaching other teachers, leading community outreach or similar)
2+ years prior work experience with children and families in low-income communities in the US OR significant personal experience in low-income communities in the US (grew up and/or attended school in)
Meet the credentialing criteria for the state of Kentucky
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong personal commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness

Directly manage and coach school staff, including Assistant Teachers and Food Service Assistants
Assist in the development and implementation of school policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives as directed by the Head of School
Identify and address areas of improvement and implement efficient systems to enhance operational effectiveness
Monitor and address any operational issues or emergencies, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize disruptions
Supervise facilities management, including maintenance, security, and safety protocols
Serve as the point of contact with the site partner and all vendors to ensure services meet expectations
Ensure all physical work environments within the local schools are safe, well-equipped, organized efficiently, and operating successfully for diverse students, families, and staff, including conducting regular internal audits
Conduct weekly internal licensing and facility audits and daily walk-throughs to ensure school is well-maintained and issues are proactively addressed
