Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of 7-10 years of senior management experience in a nonprofit organization, preferably in the arts or music sector
- Proven track record in fundraising, financial management, and strategic planning
- Experience in program development, community engagement, and staff management
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with donors, volunteers, and staff at all levels
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Experience managing budgets and timelines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of fundraising software and databases
- Passion for the mission of the university and a commitment to higher education
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans that chart ICM’s vision, growth, and priorities
- Foster a positive organizational culture that promotes high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization, effectively communicating its mission, vision, and value to stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, community leaders, and partner organizations
- Develop and manage the ICM’s annual budget in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Chief Advancement Officer
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting and financial reporting to ensure financial stability and growth
- Identify and pursue diverse revenue streams, including grants, sponsorships, donations, and earned income, in partnership with the Chief Advancement Officer
- In collaboration with the Chief Advancement Officer and Board of Directors, develop and implement fundraising efforts, including individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events
- Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and potential donors to secure financial support
- Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director and others to ensure the artistic vision and integrity of the program, including development and implementation of high-quality programs and performances align with the program’s mission and goals
- Supervise, mentor, and support a diverse team of staff, faculty and volunteers
- Evaluate and improve program effectiveness, ensuring alignment with community needs and organizational objectives
- Serve as the primary liaison between the staff and the Board of Directors
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of Board members
- Provide regular updates to the Board on organizational performance, challenges, and opportunities, in collaboration with University leadership
- Support Board committees and assist with effective governance practices
