Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, astronautical, mechanical, or software), computer science, physics, operations research, or closely related technical field from an accredited school.
  • 6 or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering/scientific experience, including multi-disciplinary systems engineering and/or program management environments.
  • Technical understanding of astrodynamics, space operations, and system/architecture resiliency concepts.
  • Expertise in two or more of the following: communications infrastructure, command and control (C2), space surveillance, spacecraft ground systems, multi-phenomenology remote sensing techniques, spacecraft maneuvering, threats to spacecraft, or space-driven kill-chains.
  • Experience with one or more software languages that may include Python, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Experience leading a team to accomplish an objective.
  • Ability to work on dynamic assignments and adapt to changing customer expectations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Current Top Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an integration leader and spokesperson for the Cross-Mission Effectiveness Department, coordinating across multiple Aerospace program offices to connect customer requirements with Aerospace capabilities and to identify opportunities for new partnerships.
  • Work closely with our cross-mission integration focused program offices and customers to translate their program needs into modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks.
  • Independently coordinate and lead multiple department projects for our program offices to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent team deliveries.
  • Use and contribute to the development of in-house and commercial- and government-off-the-shelf engineering analysis tools and analysis products.
  • Collaborate across technical organizations to achieve optimal solutions and efficiencies.
  • Develop and present briefings and reports for program offices and customers.
  • Mentor junior staff members on technical and professional development subjects and contribute to a learning environment where it is encouraged to share ideas and feedback.
  • Hold self and team accountable for results and remove barriers for teams to achieve objectives.
  • Travel occasionally as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in applicable STEM areas or other relevant disciplines.
  • Proficiency with the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
  • Experience modeling the space domain in AFSIM and/or integrating external tools with AFSIM.
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community, U.S. Department of Defense, and Department of the Air Force business practices and programs.
  • Current Top Secret/SCI Clearance with polygraph, and special programs access.
  • Widely recognized internally and externally by peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractors.
