Anesthesia Technician

Requirements

• High school graduate or possess a G.E.D.
• 3 months patient care experience or equivalent
• 3 months experience working with medical equipment or equivalent
• A Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cert. A.T.) is preferred but not required with equivalent combination of education and experience of 2-3 years
• Experience in anesthesia equipment management preferred
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals preferred
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence preferred
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up, check, inspect, maintain and calibrate a variety of anesthesia equipment
• Perform various anesthesia specialized treatment procedures
• Coordinate Anesthesia and Auto transfusion services
• Provide technical and logistical support to the physicians and hospital staff for surgical procedures
• Follow all standards regarding safety of all patients, staff and self
• Ensure all work areas are stocked according to levels, clean and organized
• Demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude, and be respectful to all patients, family and staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cert. A.T.) preferred
• Experience in anesthesia equipment management preferred
