Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the surety industry, with a focus on commercial surety bonds.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial surety underwriting guidelines, risk assessment, and bond pricing.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing a portfolio of commercial surety accounts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial surety accounts, including new business development and renewal activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique surety bond needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with underwriters to assess risk, determine bond eligibility, and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of client financials and to ensure accurate underwriting and pricing.
  • Prepare and present surety bond proposals to clients, addressing their specific requirements and provide clear explanations of terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and manage the surety bond renewal process, ensuring timely and accurate renewals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and market conditions related to commercial surety bonds.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Insurance Account Executives, to provide comprehensive service to clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including bond information, financials, and communication history.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing guidance and support throughout the bond process and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
