Requirements

  • College degree (BA) from a four (4) year College or University
  • Two to Three years of experience as a Credit Analyst, or similar analytical or commercial underwriting role
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statements
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • An interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industry
  • Strong communication skills who proactively prioritizes over the phone communication with customers and who prioritizes face-to-face communication with internal business partners
  • Critical thinker who can articulate potential solutions when escalating discovered issues to supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Spreading, managing, and maintaining financial background information on present and prospective customers
  • Preparing credit actions and memos for the Portfolio and Relationship Managers
  • Managing spread assignments and conducting financial analyses
  • Maintaining related records and files
  • Performing financial statement analyses, typically involving complex and interlocking relationships for clients in the mortgage services lending industry
  • Collecting, organizing, analyzing company financials to ensure Bank compliance, and updating the Bank’s systems accordingly
  • Analyzing collateral information to determine the risk involved in lending money to customers
  • Assisting lending officers and underwriters on credit matters such as new loans, annual renewals and change in terms requests
  • Reviewing client financials and performing sensitivity analysis to evaluate credit risk in connection with Bank structures
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Bank groups to execute treasury management products, derivatives as well as legal documents
  • Analyzing commercial lending and mortgage industry trends and tailoring credit actions and recommendations to current market conditions
  • Informing CCO/Loan Officers of relevant trends of specific loans, portfolios, or industries
  • Providing credit information and references for customers, auditors, loan officers, or other agencies as requested
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
