Requirements

  • Two or four-year Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering or equivalent degree / experience
  • Industrial electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
  • Experience with installing and maintaining many types of software and hardware
  • Strong organization and problem solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks and teams
  • Extensive experience in automated conveyor systems and controls
  • Extensive experience in work order management
  • Extensive experience in preventive/predictive maintenance procedures
  • Extensive experience in blueprint and schematic reading
  • Extensive experience in industrial electrical
  • Extensive experience in HMI interfaces and programming
  • Extensive experience in industrial controls
  • Extensive experience in industrial electronics
  • Extensive experience in Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs
  • Extensive experience in server based controls
  • Extensive experience in National Electrical Code (NEC)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high equipment availability and optimize system performance
  • Use preventive and predictive maintenance processes
  • Rapidly troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and quickly restore equipment to service
  • Work with other Target engineers and operational partners to optimize the performance and flow of material handling equipment
  • Lead building automation, continuous improvement, and new installation initiatives
  • Serve as an escalated support resource during downtime events
  • Implement proper processes and training procedures as part of root cause analysis
  • Proactively monitor the overall health of the building’s material handling equipment
  • Conduct technical interviews for internal and external technician candidates
  • Evaluate technical skills and abilities and train and coach internal technicians
  • Support training plan development and progress follow up
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and facilitate site training on appropriate safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
