Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
- 4-6 years experience in progressive accounting roles. Some public accounting experience is preferred.
- Experience with accounting and payroll processing software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with UKG and NetSuite preferred.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP and ability to document accounting conclusions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and effectively present complex information to both finance and non-finance partners.
- Strong understanding of and / or ability to quickly learn payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance issues at the federal, state, and local levels.
- A highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of how people, processes, and technology work together to create lasting and efficient capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform the end-to-end payroll process, including bi-weekly, off-cycle and monthly commission payroll runs, ensuring timely and accurate processing for all employees.
- Maintain and reconcile payroll records, ensuring proper recording of wages, deductions, and benefits.
- Responsible for recording all compensation related journal entries, including payroll, calculating bonus and commissions, and stock compensation and the related reconciliations.
- Collaborate with the People & Culture team to ensure alignment on payroll-related matters such as benefits, compensation, and audits.
- Manage the accounting and reporting of stock-based compensation, including grants, vesting, and expense recognition in accordance with ASC 718.
- Own the tax processes including overseeing the preparation and filing of sales tax, payroll and income tax returns, responding to tax notices, and ensuring timely payments.
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP, including supporting the annual audit process and investor reporting.
- Collaborate with senior management cross-functionally to lead or support special technical accounting projects as needed, such as implementation of new processes or process improvements.
- Assist with other responsibilities and projects, as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some public accounting experience is preferred.
