Accounting Manager

5+ years of professional accounting experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred
Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and a strong understanding of internal controls
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders
Self-starter with demonstrated history of ownership and accountability
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to identify issues and implement effective solutions
Team player with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience with revenue recognition and inventory cost accounting

Execute month-end close and reconciliation processes to ensure timely, accurate financial data in compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
Design and maintain internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information
Develop and uphold accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements
Manage and oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, billings/receivables, revenue recognition, lease accounting, inventory and fixed asset accounting
Manage supplier and customer onboarding processes
Understand and implement government rate structures based on Federal Acquisition Regulations
Oversee accounting and reporting of government contract costs and revenues
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local sales tax filings
Lead the development, recruitment, mentoring, and training of team members to enhance skills and performance
Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
Support the finance team in developing accurate financial forecasts and analysis of budget vs. actual variances
Partner with and provide excellent service to other internal teams/departments to save them time and energy
Maintain existing financial systems and implement new financial systems as the company scales
Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as appropriate
