Requirements
- A High School Diploma or its equivalent
- A minimum of five (5) years of clerical/accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Thorough knowledge of databases and spreadsheets
- Valid Texas Drivers License
Responsibilities
- Performs clerical duties related to the operation of the department
- Monitor and reconcile project Budgets
- Setup projects and funding involved
- Account for and reconcile all funds involved in projects from planning to close
- Assist preparing the Department Annual Budgets
- Research and analyze budgets and related information
- Assist in the preparing the City Capital Plan
- Backup for Payroll
- Backup for process invoices for payment in the J.D. Edwards accounting system and scan invoices into Hummingbird
- Set up preconstruction conferences, agendas, sign-in sheets, plans and contract documents for City and Developer projects
- Set up the Utility Coordinating Committee Meeting
- Prepare bid recommendations for City Commission approval as needed
- Prepare Annual inventory
- Assist of the Capital Projects Program Coordinator with various tasks as requested
- Assist other staff as required
- Serve as backup for ROW Permits, Credit cards and Databases maintenance
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good typing skills, 30 wpm is preferred
- Proficient in the use of a personal computer for data entry, word processing and accounting purposes
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including a calculator, copier, and multi-line telephone system
- Ability to use highly technical computer applications, such as GIS or CAD
