Requirements
- Knowledge of the principles applying to aircraft systems, concepts and applications of maintenance directives and data reporting, and using technical data is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Air Force supply and deficiency reporting procedures and the proper handling, use, and disposal of hazardous waste and materials is mandatory.
- Knowledge of MIS (CAMS/IMDS) and desktop computer operations and use is mandatory.
- Completion of a basic applicable aircraft maintenance course is mandatory.
- Qualification as Aircraft Worker is mandatory.
- A minimum of three years of performing functions, such as installing, inspecting, repairing or overhauling aircraft structures, systems, and components, is mandatory.
- Must have held a 2A6X4 (Fuels) Air Force Specialty Code or civilian/sister service equivalent.
- Must have a minimum four (4) years documented experience, preferably within the last ten (10) years, on F-15s and/or F-16s.
- SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED.
Responsibilities
- Repairs, maintains, and inspects aircraft structures, systems, components, and related equipment under the technical direction of an Aircraft Mechanic, Aircraft Mechanic (Senior) or Lead.
- Removes and installs aircraft components.
- Conducts functional tests of repaired components and systems.
- Inspects and identifies aircraft corrosion for prevention and repair.
- May be required to perform crash recovery duties.
- Required to perform assigned tasks within your work center that directly supports necessary functions of this job classification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of high school with courses in mathematics is desirable.
