Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in refrigeration, electrical, or mechanical field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in refrigeration and electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of ammonia refrigeration systems and equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of equipment, including lift trucks, pneumatic systems, material handling equipment, hydraulic equipment, dock equipment, electronic, and electrical equipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
  • Diagnose refrigeration and electrical problems using technical drawings, electronic/mechanical schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex ammonia refrigeration system problems with equipment logic controls and external Input/Output (IO) devices.
  • Operate refrigeration system equipment, including compressors and fan units.
  • Monitor system performance, adjust controls to maintain necessary system parameters, and manage equipment to filter and purify water.
  • Ensure the safety and compliance of plant operations.
  • Run tests, identify faults, and apply corrective measures as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration system equipment, following original equipment manufacturer instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Clean or prevent issues pertaining to hazardous materials as a member of the HazMat team.
  • Monitor work areas for safety concerns and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Complete work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents using established procedures.
  • Lead and participate in teams, using and sharing resources, information, and tools to determine customer needs and business priorities.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, coworkers, customers, and other business partners.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Class I-IV Wastewater Operator (State Specific).
  • RETA Certified Refrigeration Service Technician (CRST) certification.
