Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of customer interactions with focus on application or materials development for EMI solutions in consumer electronics in a private, public, government or military environment
- Skills include Translating EMI application requirements into material attributes and developing test methodology to validate material performance.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with global customers and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Developing an in-depth understanding of the customers EMI shielding and grounding needs that are required for them to achieve their device performance goals.
- Building an opportunity pipeline by mapping customer device technology roadmaps, identifying critical needs for EMI solutions and translating into target EMI material property attributes.
- Driving cross functional collaboration with 3M stakeholders to develop and commercialize EMI solutions to enable the customer roadmap.
- Understanding customer build schedules to position 3M solutions to meet customer timelines and tracking feedback through the customer and their supply chain.
- Fostering global collaboration across 3M worldwide EMI labs to align 3M material solutions with end user applications.
- Generating and protecting 3M intellectual property through developing patent strategies, innovating new concepts, and filing of patent applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Physics at an accredited institution
- Dual Major Bachelor’s: Electrical engineering or Chemical engineering with Physics (or substantial coursework in Physics)
- Five (5) years of application or materials development for EMI solutions in consumer electronic in a private, public, government or military environment
