Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 10+ years of work experience in relevant area(s) of the Defined Contribution and/or asset management industries
  • Strong work ethic, highly self-motivated and entrepreneurial
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • Strong territory management and client development skills, including ability to cold call successfully
  • Ability to maintain a consistent travel schedule, and manage to a travel budget
  • Strong knowledge of DC services and relevant investment products across all major asset classes
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Highly collaborative and thrives in a team-based environment
  • Interpersonal skills: ability to build the trust and confidence of clients, ability to strengthen client relationships through ongoing dialog and interactions, ability to work well with others internally to accomplish client objectives

Responsibilities

  • Maintain direct and/or co-coverage responsibility for large plan sponsor organizations focused on generating new sales and maintaining ongoing relationships
  • Quickly develop expertise across the GSAM DCIO product array
  • Build familiarity with our other DC services, such as advisory/OCIO and digital advice/managed accounts, where subject matter experts are available for partnership with you as specific opportunities develop
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for each individual client, which outlines selling opportunities, a service plan and specific deliverables across all asset classes, in coordination with other distribution teams
  • Collaborate with investment and product teams to prepare and review materials for new business opportunities and existing client relationship meetings
  • Participate in internal tracking and business planning exercises
  • Provide market feedback to management and product teams
  • Participate in industry forums and maintain significant external industry presence
  • Effectively manage a large geographical territory (specific territory and coverage is flexible)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with large DC plan sponsors and consultants
  • Functional understanding of Salesforce / CRM platforms
  • MBA or CFA charter a plus
  • Series 7 and 63 required (or must be obtained within three months of employment)
