Responsibilities
- Supports scientific investigation to study cardiovascular disease/heart failure/cardiac regeneration
- Independently writes and submits grants for NIH/AHA/NSF
- Publish manuscripts in high impact journals
- Present research work at national and international meetings
- Develop new and ongoing collaborative research opportunities with faculty members
- Participate in research seminars/symposiums
- Attend faculty meetings
- Maintain extramural funding
- Training and mentoring undergraduate, graduate students, medical students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and research scientists
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in pharmacy, regenerative medicine, physiology, and cell biology
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or working in interdisciplinary research teams
- Experience mentoring members of underrepresented groups
- Demonstrated success in securing R01/K99 funding
