Responsibilities

  • Supports scientific investigation to study cardiovascular disease/heart failure/cardiac regeneration
  • Independently writes and submits grants for NIH/AHA/NSF
  • Publish manuscripts in high impact journals
  • Present research work at national and international meetings
  • Develop new and ongoing collaborative research opportunities with faculty members
  • Participate in research seminars/symposiums
  • Attend faculty meetings
  • Maintain extramural funding
  • Training and mentoring undergraduate, graduate students, medical students, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and research scientists
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in pharmacy, regenerative medicine, physiology, and cell biology

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or working in interdisciplinary research teams
  • Experience mentoring members of underrepresented groups
  • Demonstrated success in securing R01/K99 funding
