Requirements

  • Ph.D. in agricultural or applied economics, or related field
  • Experience in research and competing for grants on agricultural economics topics preferred
  • Excellent quantitative and communication skills
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students
  • Active effort to provide an inclusive learning environment for all

Responsibilities

  • Develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program focused on regional economics and rural economic development
  • Teach three courses per year, including two or three in the Agribusiness Management undergraduate program and possibly one in either the Energy, Environmental, and Food Economics graduate program, Community, Environment, and Development undergraduate program, or Community and Economic Development graduate program
  • Secure external funding
  • Advise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students
